Dwarves of the Deeps — Hammerskeld Crossbowmen

The Hammerskeld Crossbowmen are the disciplined ranged corps of the Deep Dwarven clans, trained to fire in perfect volleys even in the pitch‑black tunnels of the under‑mountain realms. Their crossbows are deep‑forge crafted, reinforced with cavern‑steel limbs and rune‑etched stocks that remain reliable despite humidity, dust, and the occasional cave‑quake.

Their armor is heavier than most ranged units—deep‑ore plate and reinforced leather—allowing them to hold their ground even when melee crashes into the line. They embody classic dwarven ranged infantry, tunnel‑volley specialists, and armored missile troops, providing the faction with accurate, sustained firepower in tight subterranean terrain.

Hammerskeld Crossbowmen serve as armored ranged infantry, excelling at:

• Delivering disciplined volleys that thin enemy ranks

• Punishing flanking attempts in narrow tunnels

• Supporting Deep Guard and Hammerskeld Warriors with sustained fire

• Holding their own in melee when enemies close the distance

Commanders field them when they need reliable ranged pressure, armored missile support, or formation‑friendly shooting units across any fantasy system.
