Description

Narrative Beat

The Dwarves of the Northern Hills assure you the full story is imminent; the Boar Cavalry simply charged in early because when your mount is a half‑ton of tusks, muscle, and questionable enthusiasm, punctuality becomes a battlefield hazard.

Lore

Norse Dwarf Boar Cavalry are the elite mounted warriors of the Northern Hills, riding massive war‑boars bred in frost‑caves, rune‑carved pens, and volcanic forges. These boars are not ordinary beasts — they are battle‑boars, thick‑skinned, rune‑scarred, and possessed of a temperament best described as “perpetually offended.”

Their riders are veteran dwarven shock troopers clad in heavy iron, leather, and runic plates. Some wield broad axes, others rune‑hammers or spear‑lances designed to channel the momentum of a charging boar into catastrophic impact. Their beards are braided for battle, their helms adorned with horn‑crests, and their war‑cries echo across the frozen valleys.

Boar Cavalry embody the Northern Hills identity in ferocious momentum, stubborn resilience, and mythic battlefield presence.

Tactical Role

Norse Dwarf Boar Cavalry excel in shock charges, armored breakthrough, flank disruption, and monster engagement, making them indispensable for commanders who rely on decisive melee force and unstoppable momentum. Their boars smash through infantry lines, their riders deliver brutal strikes, and their combined resilience keeps them in the fight long after lesser cavalry falter.

Field them when you need a unit that charges like a thunderclap, hits like a mountain falling sideways, and turns the battlefield into a cautionary stampede across any system‑neutral fantasy ruleset.
