The Gloomwood Goblins — Ballista represents the forest tribes’ attempt at “advanced engineering,” which mostly means strapping sharpened logs to a creaking frame of roots, vines, and scavenged metal. Powered by twisted bark‑springs and fungal resin, the Gloomwood Ballista is equal parts weapon, hazard, and community project.

Its bolts are grown from magically hardened root‑wood, its frame is reinforced with living vines, and its crew consists of goblins who claim to be “experts” because they once saw a dwarf operate a real siege engine. Despite its questionable construction, the Ballista is surprisingly effective—especially when the forest itself seems eager to help.

This unit embodies classic goblin artillery, forest‑themed siege weapons, and chaotic ranged support, giving the Gloomwood a long‑range punch they otherwise lack.
