In a moment best described as “ceremonially immovable,” the Reptilian City‑States Phalanx Guards stepped into formation—moving with the shield‑locked, ritual‑disciplined certainty of warriors who believe their duty is not simply to hold the line, but to define it.
Where the Phalanx Guards stand, the battlefield stops arguing.
The Reptilian Phalanx Guards are the elite defensive infantry of the City‑States—an honor‑bound caste trained from hatchling age in shield discipline, formation cohesion, and civic‑oath warfare. Unlike standard phalanx warriors, the Guards represent the ceremonial and martial apex of the shield‑wall tradition.
Their armor is heavier, basalt‑etched, and reinforced with volcanic lamellae or cavern‑forged plating. Their shields are broad, curved, and inscribed with city‑state sigils; their spears are long, serrated, and designed for both braced defense and disciplined thrusting.
Phalanx Guards are not simply soldiers—they are living fortifications, embodiments of civic pride, and the immovable heart of every City‑State cohort.
Their battlefield identity is built on discipline, defense, formation mastery, and unbreakable resolve.
Tactical Role
The Phalanx Guards serve as the faction’s premier frontline unit, excelling in attrition, objective holding, and formation‑based battlefield control. Commanders field them when they need a stable, reliable infantry block capable of absorbing charges, anchoring flanks, and maintaining cohesion under pressure. Their shield‑wall discipline and spear reach make them ideal for system‑neutral fantasy warfare, especially in scenarios requiring durable mid‑field presence and structured advance.
