The Thirteen Companions

Narrative Beat

The Elf Lord

Lord Aelthinar stood beneath the argent boughs of the Galahad Grove, listening as the wind carried whispers from the barrow‑lands. Old magic traveled strangely across the world — sometimes as a tremor, sometimes as a sigh, sometimes as a memory that wasn’t his. Today it arrived as a warning. The Wight had stirred. The Hunters had moved. And the quiet world below the elven spires had shifted in a way he had not felt since the Crown cracked.

He rested a hand on the bark of the oldest tree, feeling its pulse. The forest remembered the Companions — the first circle, the first oath, the first time the free peoples stood together. But memory alone could not answer what was waking now. Aelthinar’s jaw tightened. The world of men was fracturing again, and the shadows beneath the hills were no longer content to sleep. He turned toward the council fire, where his captains waited. “Send word,” he said. “The circle must be reforged. The dwarf will come. He always does.”

The Dwarf Master

Thrain Stoneward was already awake when the messenger arrived — dwarves felt the barrow‑shifts in their bones long before the elves heard them in their leaves. He had felt the tremor while inspecting the Deepgate for cracks, a faint shudder that traveled through stone like a whispered name. Not a threat. Not yet. But a reminder. The kind that made old warriors reach for their axes before they realized their hands were moving.

He dismissed the messenger with a grunt and walked to the overlook above the forge‑hall. The anvils were quiet at this hour, the fires banked low, the apprentices still rubbing sleep from their eyes. Peace. The kind that never lasted. Thrain traced the old rune carved into the railing — the mark of the first Companions. He remembered their faces. He remembered their failures. And he remembered the night the Crown cracked, when the world had tilted toward war and never quite righted itself. “Aelthinar calls,” he muttered. “And the world stirs. Aye. I’ll answer.”

Convergence

The elf lord and the dwarf lord met at the border stone where their realms touched — a place older than either kingdom, older than the Crown, older even than the first oath. No ceremony. No fanfare. Just two ancient figures standing beneath a sky that felt heavier than it had the day before.

Aelthinar spoke first. “The world is waking.”

Thrain nodded. “Then we gather the thirteen.”

The wind shifted. The barrows sighed. And SOMEWHERE far off, Tom leaned on his walking stick and felt the first true ripple of the Crown Wars returning.

Lore

The Thirteen Companions are a rare fellowship drawn from the four great realms of the Crown Wars — human, dwarven, and elven champions bound by oath rather than banner. Each carries their own history, scars, and purpose, yet they march together when the stakes rise beyond any single kingdom. Their presence on the field marks a turning point, for wherever the Companions stand, the line holds and the story deepens.

⚔️ Tactics

The Companions function as hero‑level operatives, ideal for narrative play, skirmish scenarios, or as standout leaders within larger armies. Each sculpt represents a distinct battlefield specialty — duelists, wardens, scouts, tacticians, and frontline veterans — allowing commanders to slot them into any force that needs precision, leadership, or a thematic centerpiece. They excel in roles where individual impact matters more than formation.

The 13 Companions are built for players who enjoy character‑driven fantasy miniatures with strong silhouettes and clear battlefield roles. This hero pack brings together thirteen unique sculpts from across the Crown Wars setting, giving you a complete cast of leaders, scouts, spell‑wardens, and champions ready to anchor any narrative encounter.

Because these models originate at 10mm scale, they maintain bold shapes and clean lines even when scaled up to 20mm or 28mm. Painters appreciate the smooth, easy‑to‑paint surfaces, while gamers value how readable the characters remain on the tabletop. Whether you’re assembling a skirmish warband, adding command figures to a larger army, or stocking up for RPG sessions, the Companions offer a flexible, multi‑faction hero set that fits naturally into most fantasy wargame systems.
If you enjoy resin fantasy miniatures, narrative skirmish play, or classic fantasy aesthetics, this kit delivers a complete fellowship ready to bring depth and personality to your games.
