Gothic Undead — Vengeful Spirits

The Vengeful Spirits are wrath‑bound ghosts torn from the deepest crypts and battlefield graves, their souls twisted by centuries of betrayal, torment, or unfinished vengeance. Their forms flicker between skeletal silhouettes and tattered phantoms, cloaked in drifting shrouds of grave‑mist. Hollow eyes burn with balefire rage, and their spectral claws leave trails of necrotic frost as they glide silently across the battlefield.

Unlike mindless undead, Vengeful Spirits retain fragments of memory — enough to fuel their hatred, but not enough to grant peace. Necromancers bind them through runes of torment, Gravebound Knights command them through ancient oaths, and Vampire Generals unleash them as living curses. They move without sound, strike without mercy, and vanish into the mist before their victims fall.

Where their whispers echo, terror follows.

Vengeful Spirits act as fast, ethereal shock infantry, ideal for:

• Phasing through terrain to strike vulnerable targets

• Harassing flanks and backlines

• Disrupting enemy morale with terror auras

• Screening elite undead with spectral mobility

• Executing isolated heroes or artillery crews
