Gothic Undead — Zombies

The Zombies are the Gothic Undead’s most numerous and wretched infantry, raised from mass graves, battlefield pits, forgotten crypts, and anywhere death has lingered too long. Their bodies are bloated with decay, limbs stitched together by necromantic sinew, and jaws slack with eternal hunger. Some drag rusted weapons, others clutch remnants of their former lives, and a few stagger forward missing pieces that don’t seem to matter anymore.

Unlike Ghouls or Skeletons, Zombies are driven by pure necromantic compulsion — mindless, tireless, and utterly obedient. They advance in shambling hordes, absorbing arrows, blades, and fire as if pain were a distant memory. Necromancers replenish their ranks with every fallen foe, Gravebound Knights use them as living shields, and Vampire Generals unleash them as an unstoppable tide of rotting flesh.

Where Zombies march, the world rots.

Zombies act as slow, relentless swarm infantry, ideal for:

• Absorbing enemy fire with sheer numbers

• Screening elite undead units

• Holding objectives through attrition and regeneration

• Overrunning weakened or isolated foes

• Providing a constant, re‑animating frontline

Commanders field Zombies when they need expendable, durable bodies capable of grinding down enemy lines through inevitability rather than finesse.
