Description

Narrative Beat

The Formians insist they act with perfect unity; the forests politely note that unity becomes unsettling when it clicks in unison.

Lore

The Formian Warriors are the disciplined insectoid soldiery of the Wilds of Avalon—fae‑bound hive guardians who emerge from crystalline mound‑cities hidden beneath the ley‑woven roots of ancient groves. Each Formian is a chitin‑armored warrior shaped by Avalon’s primal magic: four‑armed, multi‑eyed, and guided by a hive‑mind chorus that resonates through the forest floor.

Their armor is living crystal‑chitin, grown in layered plates that shimmer with green‑gold ley‑light. Their weapons—curved hive‑blades, resin‑forged spears, and rune‑etched chitin bows—are grown rather than crafted, each one humming faintly with the magic of the mound. In Avalon conflicts, Formian Warriors surge forth when the balance of the Wilds is threatened, forming disciplined phalanxes that move with eerie precision and overwhelming force.

Tactical Role

Formian Warriors serve as elite line infantry, specializing in formation cohesion, multi‑angle melee pressure, and battlefield control. Their hive‑mind coordination allows them to strike simultaneously, reposition fluidly, and maintain formation even under brutal conditions. Commanders field them when disciplined melee force, supernatural resilience, and synchronized battlefield presence are required to anchor an Avalon warhost.
