Gothic Undead — Skeleton Heavy Infantry

The Skeleton Heavy Infantry are the Gothic Undead’s elite bone phalanx, raised from ancient war‑crypts and reforged with necromantic reinforcement. Their bones are thickened with grave‑marrow, their armor is layered with rusted plate and ossified plating, and their shields bear runes of warding carved by long‑dead artisans. Hollow sockets glow with balefire discipline, and their movements — slow but deliberate — echo the cadence of forgotten armies.

Unlike Light Infantry or standard Raised Skeletons, Heavy Infantry are built to endure. Their shields lock into interwoven formations, their spears brace with unnatural steadiness, and their armor absorbs blows that would shatter mortal soldiers. Necromancers rely on them to anchor battle lines, Gravebound Knights use them as bodyguards, and Vampire Generals deploy them as the immovable center of any undead host.

Where they stand, the living break.

Skeleton Heavy Infantry act as elite defensive line troops, ideal for:

• Holding choke points and fortified positions

• Forming shield‑walls that resist cavalry and monsters

• Anchoring undead formations with durable bodies

• Absorbing ranged fire with reinforced armor

• Counter‑charging with disciplined, heavy strikes

Commanders field Heavy Infantry when they need an unbreakable wall of bone capable of grinding down enemy assaults through sheer necromantic resilience.
